Greetings Tech Nomads,

Today we are looking at: Ultra-Thin Phones vs. Big Batteries

TL;DR: Thin phones are cool, but most people seem to prefer having a bigger battery that lasts all day.

The new Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is super thin (just 5.8mm) and incredibly light (163 grams). That's thinner than a stack of six credit cards! It has a fast Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 12GB RAM, and a sharp, bright 6.7-inch screen (QHD+ AMOLED, 120Hz).

Apple isn't far behind, soon launching their iPhone 17 Air. At only 5.5mm thick, it might literally slip through your fingers! Apple sticks to simplicity with a single 48MP camera and smart software tricks (AI-driven battery) to stretch its smaller battery life.

But—surprise, surprise—research suggests ultra-thin phones aren't everyone's cup of tea. Users frequently say they'd happily take a slightly thicker phone in exchange for longer battery life. Apparently, going ultra-thin sounds "awesome" until your phone dies at lunchtime!

For most users, the choice between Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and iPhone 17 Air might come down to your everyday habits. Want the prettiest, sleekest phone to impress friends and have hands the size of a pianist? Go thin. Prefer practicality and not worrying about finding an outlet every few hours? Go for something thicker with a big battery instead.

Be seeing you…
